No Animal Left Behind!
Oscar's Sanctuary is a forward-looking, nonprofit, full service facility that ministers to the needs of animals, their owners, medical professionals, and people in the community. It will be open 21 hours a day, 6 days a week. There will be a comfortable waiting room for families as well as a cafeteria that is open during the day. Under the facility will be a shelter that can house 500 families in the event of a catastrophe such as a tornado!
Oscar's Sanctuary will have a full time receptionist, treatment rooms, and offices where the doctors can study and keep their files on their patients. There will also be a library well supplied with research materials. In the back of the main facility will be an area for animal grooming and sales.
The plans for Oscar's Sanctuary call for stables, stalls and cages for housing animals, and an out-door pasture behind the facility. The floors will likely be Terrazzo, so that they can be cleaned and sanitized easily. There will be three full surgery suites. The facility will host a blood bank, heart monitors, ultra sound equipment, and more. An overhead crane that trolleys from the helipad back to the husbandry suite will assist with moving animals that have been air-lifted to the facility for immediate emergency treatment.
